Night Riots Share a Demo

I've heard it said that a song is never finished, only abandoned. Every song has had a journey behind it before it ever reaches your ears. Sometimes a whole song can be built off of one melody or just one little idea and then boom! The song will just seem to complete itself. Other times you will toil and struggle with a song then just drop it completely only to pick it up again 6 months later to begin wrestling with it once more. This demo I'm about to share with you is one of those jams that we put work into on and off for over a year.

When we went in to the studio to record this song it went through a metamorphosis (for the better) that was unexpected but celebrated. We have learned that it is wise to avoid "demo love" and stay unattached to the ideas you have for a song to allow for improvements. If we had been stubborn or closed minded about this song I don't think it would have been half as good in the end.

This demo was done at our home studio. When we do these little demos we are not worried about mistakes or mixing the sounds out correctly so it may sound a bit strange but I thought it could be fun to give you all a behind the scenes look into our writing process. It really is interesting to see how far this song has come. This demo was done in 2012, enjoy
