We Are The Ocean - Go Now And Live

Our good friends from the UK We Are The Ocean, release their second full-length record this week. Vocalist Dan told us a bit more about the record, read what he had to say below. Stream the record in its entirety now on their Facebook Page.

Tell us a little bit about your new album...
Our new album is called 'Go Now And Live', it was recorded by Peter Miles in December '10 / January '11 and it comes out on April 25th! We're stoked about it. Its a bit different to the first album, we wanted to turn it up a notch and really push ourselves with our song-writing and we're really proud of the style and sounds that we come up with.

What were your main influences whilst writing the record?
At the time of writing the record we weren't on tour much and being home was becoming a bit of a drag for us, and we also left our management company so a lot of the songs are about dealing with that and taking things into our own hands. We suddenly went from not being very busy at all, to self-managing and not having enough hours in the day to get things finished!

How does this record differ from your previous material?
Its definitely a lot more melodic, thats the most noticeable difference. As i said previously, we just really wanted to prove on this record that we could move away from the first album and wrote songs that we'd never wrote anything like before.

What are the bands plans for this summer and the rest of the year?
We're about to head out on a full UK and European tour, then we spend the Summer playing festivals, and then we're off to Australia in September! Its going to be anamazaing year thats for sure!

What is your favourite style of Macbeths?
I've always loved the Elliots and the Manchester's are pretty smart too!
